An advertising blitz will be launched across the southern states from Friday to promote the Work in Paradise program which offers cash incentives to those willing to take up a job offer.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said there were hundreds of tourism and hospitality jobs on offer across Queensland.
Our $7.5 million Work in Paradise program is being boosted to attract workers from NSW and Victoria to help fill these vacancies, Ms Palaszczuk said on Wednesday.
We are anticipating that Queensland will receive an influx of visitors once our borders open, and this program will ensure our tourism industry is ready to flourish.
As well as being a fantastic opportunity to live and work in beautiful Queensland, there will also be cash incentives.
Successful job applicants through the Work in Paradise program will be given a cash bonus of $1500 paid over six months and those needing to relocate more than 100km to take up an offer of employment will be given an extra $250.
We are also introducing a Gap Year in Paradise campaign to encourage school leavers and university students to apply for jobs within the Queensland tourism industry, Ms Palaszczuk said.
If you are fully vaccinated and thinking about making the move to Queensland, this is the perfect opportunity.
Residents in southeast Queensland are also being encouraged to head to parts of the state's north, far north and west to fill job vacancies.
