Employment-focused social media platform LinkedIn has released a new report detailing the fastest growing job titles over the past five years.

20. Service Desk Engineer

At number 20 on the list we have Service Desk Engineers.

They interact with customers and assist with technical issues. 

On average 3.1 years of experience is needed in this role.

19. Health Assistant

Next up we have Health Assistants, who work with doctors and nurses to provide patient support and care.

On average 2.1 years experience is needed.

18. Business Development Representative

The role of a Business Development Representative is to expand an organisation's business and nurture strategic business relationships.

On average 3.1 years of experience is needed in this role.

17. Client Associate

In this role employees look after the account-related needs of customers, replying to their enquires and messages.

16. Customer Success Manager

Building long-term customer loyalty is the aim of the Customer Success Manger's game.

A massive 5.7 years of experience, on average, is needed to successful complete this mission.

15. Cloud Engineer

Engineers in this role build, deploy and maintain an organisation's cloud infrastructure.

On average 5.3 years of experience is needed in this specialised role. 

14. Job Coach

This role is all about helping others find jobs and aiding career development.

LinkedIn says 3.2 years experience is needed on average to do this.

13. Data Engineer

Data Engineers lives are controlled by data.

(They) construct and manage data storage systems that transform raw data into usable information, which organisations can interpret to evaluate and enhance their performance, LinkedIn says.

12. Crime Analyst

Working alongside law enforcement and the government, crime analysts research criminal activity to identify trends or patterns to help determine prevention strategies.

11. Cyber Security Analyst

We've all heard about cyber attacks - well it's the analysts job to look for IT-related security issues to make this hacks less likely to occur.

LinkedIn says 4.1 years experience is needed on average for this role. 

10. Enterprise Account Executive

This is another role that looks after business relationships.

(They) liaise with clients about sales, advertising and campaign ideas, LinkedIn said.

9. Sustainability Manager

These eco-focused managers help organisations adopt more environmentally-friendly business practices, of course to comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

8. Machine Learning Engineer

Machine learning engineers create AI like progressive computer code and IT systems that learn as they go and make predictions by themselves, including facial recognition and speech recognition software, LinkedIn says.

7. Claims Adjuster

These employees investigate insurance claims made by customers.

(They) determine who is liable and the extent of insuring any liability, including claims involving personal injury or third-party property damage.

6. Growth Specialist

As the name suggests business growth is the focus of this specialist.

On average 5.1 years of experience is needed in this role.

5. Platform Engineer

This is another cloud-focused job.

Platform engineers design, construct and maintain an organisation's cloud-related platforms, to enable its software engineers and other IT professionals to safely implement and reliably operate any software they have produced, LinkedIn says.

4. Sales Development Representative

At number four we have another customer facing role.

Sales development representatives identify and establish connections with prospective customers (leads), determining those most likely to make a purchase, and passing on their details to salespeople in their organisation, LinkedIn said. 

3. Site Reliability Engineer

We're getting to the pointy end of the list now, and for third spot you'll want to dust off your technical skills.

Site reliability engineers are responsible for the development and management of software systems for apps and websites, in order to make them run as efficiently and dependably as possible, LinkedIn said, adding that 5.5 median years of prior experience is needed for this gig.

2. Clinical Exercise Physiologist

This one goes out to those specialists that treat injuries with evidence-based exercise; Clinical Exercise Physiologists.

Clinical exercise physiologists design, assign and supervise exercise and lifestyle programs for people with various health issues, typically working in hospitals or clinics alongside other healthcare professionals, LinkedIn said.

1. Technical Program Manager

And at number one, we have Technical Program Managers.

Their jobs are to supervise a number of IT projects and make sure they're organised, and on schedule.

LinkedIn said seven median years of prior experience is needed.
