One prompt engineer told the AFR that the background for people in his job was more likely to be in language, history, or philosophy than tech or computing.

Coming in at number 10 on the list is information security analysts.
Helping companies to prevent cyber attacks and ensure the overall protection of a companies assets, workers in this space could be earning roughly $100,400 per year.
Like many entries, a diploma or certificate may help an applicant standout from the crowd - but they're not essential.
9. Specialist accommodation and hospitality managers
At number nine on the list is specialist accommodation and hospitality managers.
Specialist managers can include people who manage bed and breakfasts, retirement village managers, backpacker and hostel managers or casino duty managers.
Aussies in this space can expect to earn about $104,080 per year.
8. Software developers
At number eight on the list are software developers.
People who work in this industry without degrees can expect to earn roughly $104,100 per year.
Roles include analyst programmers, developer programmers, software engineers and software testers.
7. ICT business and systems analysts
Information and communications technology (ICT) systems analysts land at number seven on the list.
Roles in this sector could earn roughly $120,000 per year, and hold jobs such as IT business consultants and business systems analysts.
6. Marketing managers
Coming in at number sixon the list is marketing managers.
It might surprise some to find that people who work in this industry do not require a bachelor's degree, but in fact - and similarly to some IT-related jobs - digital marketing managers roles change so quickly that often a degree curriculum just can't keep up.
PR managers, market research managers, and communications managers can earn about $133,000 per year.
5. Human resource managers
Most people familiar with the inner workings of the corporate world will have come into contact with at least one human resources manager, who land at five on the list.
Whether it be when you were hired or maybe when you were forced to resolve an internal dispute, HR managers are responsible for all workplace relations within an organisation.
HR managers can typically earn around $147,217 per year.
4. Chief executives and managing directors
At number four on the list is chief executives and managing directors.
While it's important to note that many people who work in these senior positions have bachelor's and master's degrees, it is entirely possible to not have either and work your way up.
The highest-level managers of an organisation, the median salary for the role is $155,000 per year - but many make significantly more.
3. ICT sales professionals
ICT sales professionals hold roles such as specialist account managers, business development managers, and sales representatives.
At three on the list, Aussies in these industries can earn about $157,000 per year.
2. Chemical, gas, petrol and powerplant operators
Missing the top spot by just a couple thousand of dollars are chemical, gas and petrol powerplant operators.
Tasks in this sector include include controlling machinery and maintaining machinery as well as conducting chemical tests.
Though you'd need a few years industry experience before you work your way up to earning $168,000 a year, no degree is required.
A certificate III, however, is encouraged.
1. ICT managers
Taking out the top spot on this list are ICT managers - who can earn a whopping $170,900 per year without obtaining any degree.
Chief information officers, ICT project managers, ICT development managers and network managers are all roles found in this space.
Many ICT managers do have university degrees, but it is most definitely not a prerequisite to work your way up in this space.
