The rise of AI has spooked everybody fromtech leaderstobillionaires, but it appears to be here to stay - and it could soon be competing with people in a crowded jobs market.

A recent Goldman Sachs report predicted AI could replace the equivalent of 300 million full-time jobs.

Technology leaders Tech.cohas identified the top 10 roles they think could be most at risk.

10. Proofreading and fact-checking

Tools such as spell-checkers and search engines have been around for decades, and AI is set to take a firmer grip on editing jobs - for better or worse.

9. Traders

Trading jobs, such as those on the floor at the Australian Stock Exchange and Wall Street, are also in the firing line.

8. Banking and accountancy

Accountants are essential for any business, but that very fact means they're in the line to be replaced.

7. Graphic design

AI programs already exist that can create images and designs, and are the subject of fierce debate among artists and designers.

6. Copywriting

Artificial intelligence burst into the headlines in recent months thanks largely to the ability of bots such as ChatGPT to produce legible, often-coherent text.

5. Paralegal

The Goldman Sachs report suggested up to 40 per cent of legal industry jobs could be affected, with paralegals estimated to be the most at risk.

4. Customer service

Anybody who has tried to find a human being to talk to when calling customer service on the phone knows it's already nigh-impossible. AI's increasing sophistication is only going to hasten the redundancy of person-to-person service.

3. Software engineering

AI programs are also set to strike at the software engineers and coders of the world. Teams are set to shrink as AI takes on more of the workload.

Data entry, recording information and facts and trends is already well within an AI program's wheelhouse.

1. Entry level admin

Entry-level administrative roles were found to be the most at-risk of being replaced by AI tools, as they consist of tasks that can already be competently performed by ChatGPT, such as writing summaries and managing spreadsheets.
