A survey of 6105 workers has found the top 10 most desirable employers in Australia this year.
The employers who rated highest had financial stability, career progression, attractive salaries and convenient workplace locations.

The Queensland Government has ranked 10th on the list.
The survey found Australians were not willing to risk switching roles, even if they were worse off financially, due to redundancy fears.
The large majority (67 per cent) state they would not consider searching for better pay elsewhere, with those who have not been compensated no more likely to leave their roles compared to their counterparts that have, Randstad's Employer Branding Research found.
9. Healthscope

Healthscope has been voted by workers as the ninth most desirable place to work.
Overall the survey of workers from October to November 2023 found most wages hadn't risen in line with inflation.
Despite annual real wages growing 0.5 per cent in the year to the March quarter 2024, many Australians are still feeling the cost-of-living pinch, with the report revealing only one in eight (12 per cent) have been compensated for inflation.
8. NSW Health

NSW Health came in eighth.
Roughly 2.6 million Australian workers (19 per cent) were considering taking on a second role or increasing their hours to meet rising cost-of-living pressures.
This was highest among Generation Z workers.
7. Transport for NSW

Transport for NSW has ranked seventh in the survey, presumably for the government department's stability.
Randstad professional talent solutions director Jo Jakobs said a decent salary was a top motivator for 59 per cent of those surveyed but it wasn't surprising Australians were feeling too risk-adverse to seek new employment due to a fear of redundancy.
6. Australia Post

Australia Post has more than 63,000 employees and came in sixth in the survey.
Employers are in a tight spot, with employees putting the pressure on to improve pay to help with the cost of living, yet needing to balance those demands with the reality of keeping their businesses viable in an uncertain economic climate, Jakobs said.
5. G8 Education

G8 Education is Australia's largest ASX-listed early childhood and care provider, with more than 430 childcare centres and 21 brands.
It came in fifth in the survey, which surveyed workers across 24 markets.

Virgin Australia's profit increased by 124 per cent to $5 billion in the 2022 financial year and recorded a return to profitability for the first time in 11 years last year.
Virgin Australia is now in a very strong capital position, with total debt including leases now $2.3 billion and over $1 billion of cash on balance sheet, providing the platform for future investment in transformation and growth, Virgin Australia CFO Race Strauss said in October 2023, when the survey was conducted.
Our transformation plan is well underway and has set up the business for the future.
3. NSW Department of Communities & Justice

The survey results put the NSW Department of Communities & Justice (DCJ) in third place.
It was recognised for long-term job security, career progression and attractive salaries and benfits.
DCJ Chief People Officer Catherine Carvolth said the results showed DCJ was a trusted employer of choice.
We want to acknowledge the 24,000 staff who make DCJ an engaging and purposeful place to work, Carvolth said.
We're determined to maintain our reputation as an attractive employer and strive to make DCJ an even better place to work in the years to come.
2. IAG

Insurance Australia Group (IAG Australia) came in second spot.
The survey focused on privately owned blue chip organisations, which is a shift from last year when Australians identified the public sector as the most attractive place to work.
1. Deloitte

Deloitte came in as the most desirable place to work in Randstad's survey.
Deloitte Australian chief people and purpose officer Pip Dexter said they were proud to be recognised as the most attractive employer.
We know our people come to Deloitte to do meaningful work, grow their skills, learn from others and develop their careers, Dexter said.
Our ongoing commitment to inclusion and equity creates an environment where people can thrive - ideally in both work and life.
