RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES
These include the following:
Development and maintenance of websites.
Desk-top publishing with some designing skills, including publication of at least two newsletters each year.
Book-keeping, experience with Xero and accurate filing. Working with the Honorary Treasurer as required.
Development of our social media presence.
Assisting in planning, production and marketing of our publications, including sales and despatch.
Maintenance of the office, including phone and in-person enquiries, handling correspondence, accurate record-keeping, banking, organising mail, couriers and catering. Taking care of the general appearance, organisation and tidiness of the office environment.
Support for a range of fund-raising activities and a preparedness for occasional out-of-hours commitment.
Reporting to the Board at their bi-monthly meetings.
PERSONAL QUALITIES AND ATTRIBUTES
Strong competency in general reception and office skills, including word-processing, data bases and desk top publishing. Attention to detail.
A high level of self-motivation and preparedness to introduce initiatives.
Practical knowledge of sales and marketing.
It would be an advantage to have had experience with a similar member-based organisation.
Warm, welcoming personality able to deal positively with a range of people.
Good communication, numeracy, written and verbal skills.
Ability to work alone, though a team-oriented approach will often be necessary.
Good customer relations and ability to train and work with volunteers.
