Fabricate steel or metal components according to drawing and superior instructions Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise from and assemble metal components Position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or sub-units, following drawing and layout specifications, using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines Ability to design and fabricate sheet metal products, such as ducting, piping and tubing Ability to read technical drawings Cutting, bending and stamping sheet metal in accordance with design instructions Installing and assembling sheet metal products Fitting and assembling products based on technical drawings Installing and shaping products made from metal sheets Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine
