Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Business Development team with the preparation of proposals. Request quotations from sub-contractors & suppliers for input into tenders and quotations. Be able to interpret Structural, Architectural and Steel shop drawings, with respect to completing a structural steel take off. Liaise with Builders, Engineers, Architects, other sub-contractors and our suppliers to seek further information and confirm scope and requirements. Prepare take offs, create pricing and produce quotations. Follow up on work quoted, as and when required. Perform relevant administration work associated with estimating such as printing, emails and filing. Assist in scheduling of workload and resources and ordering material when required. Assist in project management of live projects where required. Assist with negotiation and award of sub-contracts, supply agreements and purchase orders. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Develop Work Breakdown Structures in accordance with client and project requirements. Skills and Experience
It is essential that you possess the following skills and experience:
Have either a tertiary qualification or trade background or/& extensive experience. Strategic, rational and logical thinking. Knowledge of construction and the process of construction sequencing with an emphasis on structural steel and fabrication industry. Attention to detail with a focus on quality of work. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues effectively and efficiently. Excellent organisational skills and an ability to meet deadlines. Accomplished computer skills including MS Office; with the ability to demonstrate exceptional planning and organisational skills Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
