-commercial experience in Software Engineering -one (or more) core language(s) - Scala, Python or Java along with experience in one (or more) cloud platforms, AWS, GCP, Azure -experience in ETL concepts and technologies e.g. Data partitioning, Hive, Spark -experience with streaming data concepts and technologies and Kafka (Kinesis, Beam or Pubsub) -experience with distributed/columnar databases (e.g. Snowflake, Big query, Redshift) -experience with any of a variety of databases e.g. RDMS, NoSql, Columar, Distributed, Time series, Graph -knowledge of job orchestration and scheduling. Ideally experience with Airflow (Luigi, Oozie will do) -experience leading technical teams on single iteration projects -department-level expert in a particular area or go-to person for solving problems in your domain of expertise
Bonus Skills
-experience with a variety of database types e.g. RDMS, NoSql, Columar, Time series, Graph -experience with containers and container orchestration (Docker, Docker Compose or Kubernetes) -be able to articulate tech-agnostic data engineering concepts that tools are solving.
