Educational requirements: Diploma or trade qualification

English requirements: Proficient English

Requirements for skilled employment experience for years: 3-5 years

Purpose of the role The purpose of the Chef is to (but is not limited to): • assist the Sous Chef in the overall planning, directing, controlling, and production of quality food for all food outlets • operate a section of the kitchen in full from preparation, cooking and plating • train the staff consistently against stand operating procedures • food safety and hygiene procedures are maintained at all times • food cost kept within budget • food produced to a consistently high standard Skills and Experience extensive butechery experience a passion for foraging, and ability to develop our kitchen garden program a background in fermentation and pickling ability to work across all sections of the kitchen including pastry and offsite catering ability to work autonomously and demonstrated experience as a Chef (or similar) strong leadership skills and experience a good understanding of establishments goods and services (highly desirable) strong accuracy and attention to detail an ability to work under pressure excellent customer service skills (both internal and external) exceptional organizational skills and an ability to follow tasks through to completion excellent time management an ability to foster team spirit with a positive, can do attitude, excellent problem solving / researching skills computer literacy and a proactive and positive focus with a passion for hospitality and travel
