Our client is a large, global commercial property investment and asset manager business are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their Sydney CBD office to manage its expanding regional property portfolio.
This brand-new role is to join the newly established Sydney Finance team to assist with the development of accounting systems and controls in support of the organisation’s rapid, ongoing growth plans.

The Role:
The Assistant Accountant will be primarily responsible for supporting the Accounting & Finance team in monthly reporting and effectively processing transactions as required. In this busy, hands-on role, you will be required to perform a diverse range of administrative duties in order to support the Finance Team, including accurately reconciling all financial records.
Responsibilities will include:
Provide support to the Accounting & Finance team to drive month end close
Maintain an accurate and timely Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable function
Perform daily bank reconciliations for all accounts
Prepare all end of month accruals and journals
Maintain monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
Maintain the fixed assets register and depreciation/amortisation schedules
Prepare and complete the monthly BAS statements
Assist with the preparation, review and distribution of monthly financial reports
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Studying CPA/CA
Ideally 2 years' experience in a similar role, ideally using JDE Property System
Excellent time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
The ability to positively contribute to the team
Detail oriented with a strong commitment to quality
The ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
