We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with solid experience and a passion for back end development, leveraging the AWS resources, particularly the Amplify, serverless and AI services. In our squad, you will support a range of enterprise applications for the Fisheries sectors in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. We would like this candidate to grow into a Tech Lead role, so someone with great leadership attributes would be highly regarded.
You are at heart an academic coder. Your exceptional coding skills, along with your intimate knowledge of AWS Architect framework, and experience in leading the technical and architectural aspects of software development will serve you well in this role.
On a daily basis, you can expect to be:
Involved in the design of the overall Front End and Back End architecture
Leading the feature builds whilst closely working with the product owner, designer, testers, frontend developers and back end developers
Using your experience to visualise architecture using digital diagrams, whiteboards and architectural views
Using your proven leadership skills in the design, development, testing and deployment within a squad
You're a great team member and willing to work in a cross-functional team to solve issues collaboratively - you enjoy problem-solving and creative thinking to deliver better outcomes for client and team problems. You communicate well with people with diverse backgrounds through a variety of platforms and also have experience working with clients and accommodating fast-paced project delivery, using the Agile principle for software development.
What's needed?
Relevant tertiary qualification
Back-end development experience, specifically related to the AWS
AWS Certification (but don't worry if you don't have one, we'll support you in gaining one!)
A good sense of humour (our team is known to have a joke or two)
Why join Lapis?
Work with the latest tech and gain rich development experience across a number of domains.
Career development that reflects your interests and passions, with mentors and a culture of knowledge sharing means you’ll never not be growing.
See your impact first-hand, working with clients directly, on projects that make a difference.
Access to flexible hybrid working - allowing you to work where you want, when you want.
Other benefits include paid parental leave to support both parents, an Employee Assistance Program available to you and your family, and an active social club offering activities for all interests!
