Position: Computer Network & Systems Engineer To work with clients to analyse and evaluate existing systems requirements, support the formulation of system and designs and the development and documentation of systems plans that culminate in the successful deployment of functional solutions. When needed provide trouble shooting service as well.
MAIN DUTIES Systems Evaluation and Requirements Gathering • Consulting with client stakeholders to fully understand their existing business systems environment and documenting the relevant requirements. • Design, develop, implement and maintain the network of an organization. • Identifying ‘gaps’ in clients’ existing systems functionality and identifying technical solutions to support clients in achieving ICT goals. • Providing advice and expertise in relation to systems-related planning at all stages of project planning and implementation.
Systems Planning and Design • Analysing, developing, interpreting and evaluating complex system design and architecture specifications, data models and diagrams in the development, configuration and integration of computer systems. • Carrying out researches, analyses, evaluates and monitors network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal performance
Systems Integration Deployment • Review and validate existing system documentation and update where needed. • Identify impacts and changes to business processes as the result of business change. • Establishing network systems, defining their configuration and directing their installation as per the network standards • Preparing reports regarding the performance of a network • Maintaining the network system by upgrading the hardware and software timely • Finding faults in the network and repairing them • Providing Network support to the users and clients through phone, email or online chat • Monitoring the network with respect to the traffic, activity status, usage and capacity to ensure its optimal working
