The tasks of this role include the following: • You will be responsible for the specification and technical design and development of software applications and systems • You will implement software applications, ensuring product quality and product documentation • You will test new features in Newcastle Permanent Building Society’specific software applications and systems and design modifications to achieve debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors • You will be an owner of the product, technology and technical direction • We are all accountable in achieving goals and operate in a flat structure • Work in agile ways within the team, vendors and external parties • Develop new skills, collaborate with customers and colleagues to deliver on the objectives of Newcastle Permanent Building Society, in particular providing an exceptional customer experience
Skills and experience required for the position:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in software design/ engineering • Experience in TypeScript/JavaScript • An individual who will utilise their communication, influencing and management skills to build reputation and brand with other teams; • We also believe you need to remain hands-on in this role and need to keep up to date with modern software practices; • Passionate and skilled software engineer who is keen to cut code; • Feel empowered to make a difference for our teams and customers; • “Not my job!” isn’t in your vocabulary, you love drilling down and solving complex problems and are constantly looking for better ways to do things;
