Responsibilities
Investigate, troubleshoot, resolve and/or take ownership of and manage customer faults and queries through to resolution within appropriate SLA and service measures.
Perform troubleshooting across LAN/WAN.
Ensure all fault tickets are updated fully and appropriately regarding the issue, troubleshooting is undertaken, and outcomes and resolution of the fault.
Deliver high-quality customer outcomes by following all relevant processes and procedures whilst being prepared and able to think outside the square when required.
Create, design and keep documentation and procedures up to date.
Effective and efficient management of escalations, both external and internal Management of incidents escalated to 3rd party vendors and process partners.
Assist with root cause diagnosis and identification of problem and incident trends to proactively reduce fault volumes Perform research, analysis and design of technical solutions to meet Project requirements.
Provide technical leadership on different projects assisting another member of the team.
Ensure that existing technology investments are optimised if applicable.
Project responsibilities within project planning, work plan development and resourcing.
Required background
You must have 12+ years of experience in Telecommunications Engineering and/or relevant tertiary education within Information Technology.
+10 years of experience with network infrastructure, implementing and maintaining switches and routers for large services providers and enterprises.
Experience with network infrastructure, implementing and maintaining switches, routers, and Cisco.
Experience with End-to-end troubleshooting.
Knowledge of configuration, implementation, and migration strategy in end-to-end migration projects.
Implement large network projects in a multi-vendor environment.
Technical Low-Level Design (LLD) and (HLD) design exposure across LAN and WAN network communication systems.
Knowledge of Network Administration and Management Services.
Deployment of critical networking projects.
Experience in the presales area.
Design, Lead and implement large projects.
Extensive knowledge of Ethernet switching technologies, IP routing and forwarding.
Strong Experience in network design.
Extensive Knowledge of Network, Administration and Management Services.
Operational understanding of BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IS-IS, and VPN.
Ability to work without supervision and in a team environment.
Previous experience within the Telecommunications industry.
Industry-related certifications (CISCO, Accedian and VMWare).
Experience with IP/MPLS, DataCenter and Voice technologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and diagnosis skills.
Qualification:
Bachelor in Computer Network Technology or related field.
Routing & Switching, Data Centre, Service Provider and Voice Technologies.
CCIE R&S (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert).
Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core.
Fluency in English.
