Key responsibilities include/ not limited to: • Oversee a geographically distributed teams of personnel focused on technical delivery, including software development, product releases, and engineering tasks. • Hiring and training staff and delegating work assignments, mentoring and performance management • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and repair technical issues. • Evaluate team's work processes and best practices and implement changes to streamline operations. • Create service goals for the team; ensuring current applications are updated and align with the implementation of new applications; analyzing end users' needs; and selecting applications to meet those needs. • Other tasks may include developing troubleshooting programs and supervising system modifications. • Create and implement risk mitigation processes and conduct security audits to determine weaknesses in applications. • Create or contribute to project documentation, including solution design and API documentation.
The following skills / knowledge / experience is required: • Excellent technical abilities, leadership, decision making, strong communication skills, and adaptability to new technology • Must have excellent technical abilities in order to successfully perform their job responsibilities. • Applicable skills may include the following: mobile or website systems; security principles; open source security tools; programming languages; and shell scripting. • Minimum 5 years' experience with PHP and Python application design and development • Experience implementing web frameworks such as Laravel and React • Familiar with Linux/Unix, Shell • Strong leadership skills to motivate team members • A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline is required to work as a technical lead. A strong background in troubleshooting and technology support • Relevant experience in Software Development • General Knowledge of a wide range software products, the technology used and key markets • Knowledge of project management techniques and software for tracking project progress • Good working knowledge of networking.
The following skills / knowledge / experience is desired: • Mandarin speaking would be highly regarded • Experience managing teams in Taiwan (or similar region) would be highly regarded • Experience in the Financial Services industry, or other highly regulated industries, would be highly regarded Competencies: • Team leading ability, shown by having led a team to work co-operatively with others, continually reviewing objectives and priorities, and accepting collective responsibility. Experience should include direct personnel management. • Strategic Thinking, demonstrated by an ability to maintain a broad overview of both technical and business challenges in order to achieve long term goals whilst realising short term objectives • Efficient to make important decisions. • Strong communication skills to oversee personnel and foster collaboration with other organizational departments. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Solution Architects to deliver against the desired target state • Display a high degree of adaptability in order to learn new technologies as needed and successfully manage the daily challenges of a technical environment.
