Key Accountabilities
Document current state solution architecture, including items such as:
technologies and protocols in use
payload details, scope, flow and triggers, vendors, status of non-prod environments and any other relevant details
Work with the functional and technical SMEs to understand business requirements
Create target state detailed technical designs
Capture technical requirements and detail needed for development across each component of the integration - Peoplesoft, Middleware & Satellite App
Work with the MuleSoft team to design a reusable Mule architecture that can underpin multiple integrations
The candidate should have strong experience in Mule and integration technologies, cloud architecture and networking (including AWS) and in-depth understanding of PeopleSoft applications and People Tools integration technologies.
Providing technical leadership across large and complex Cloud (SaaS-PaaS-IaaS), Infrastructure, Data, Application and Security transformation projects, including the creation and review of Architecture artefacts, migration and implementation plans across Public, Private, and Hybrid cloud.
Ensure all solutions designs and related artefacts are fit for purpose.
Design, consult and provide quality assurance of complex Integration (inc. Mulesoft), Peoplesoft applications and People Tools integration technologies.
Contribute to the development of strategic solutions, including roadmaps, blueprints, patterns, standards frameworks and heatmaps.
Provide thought leadership with key stakeholders.
Work within the Architecture and Solutions team to develop or enhance reusable IP such as reference architectures.
Contribute to the Architecture Working Group and Architecture Review Board providing quality assurance across all architecture artefacts.
Keep up to date on industry trends and assess new products and emerging technologies.
Define and maintain the end-to-end lifecycle of architecture artefacts including Solution Designs, Patterns, Guidelines, Position/Options papers and Reference Architecture by collaborating with stakeholders across the University and IT Services.
Lead Solution Architectures across projects and initiatives, whilst ensuring solutions built adhere with Architecture Principles and further progress organisation's target state architecture.
Lead analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend options for improvement to support and enable the delivery of Value for the organisation.
Lead and facilitate the creation of governance, assurance and standards to guide Architecture decision making, ensuring that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with EA compliance
Collaborates across ITS functions to translate our Technology Solutions to Enterprise Architecture roadmaps.
Collaborates across ITS functions to identify, plan and deliver Architecture work and demand across the portfolio.
Applies a pragmatic, connected and modern approach to Solution Architecture as an enabler of growth, continuous improvement and thought leadership.
Key Selection Criteria
Five+ years success in working in Integration/Mulesoft/Peoplesoft environments and associated Cloud Services
Highly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideas and strategies. Comfortable, experienced, and accomplished at working with senior business executives, and able to push back in a professional and diplomatic way
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and processing environments.
Practical in approach to decision making and problem solving that is principle-based
Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models. Able to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt
Ability to work at varying levels of detail, from high level component/logical architecture to low level detail design.
Deep knowledge of People Tools, PeopleSoft, Integration (Mulesoft), and AWS
In depth knowledge and experience as stated in the Key Accountabilities section
Ability to support the implementation build where required.
