Responsibilities/Requirements: An opportunity has arisen within our Roads and Civil team for a 12D designer with at least 9 years minimum design experience to undertake civil design and drafting tasks on a variety of jobs. The role will be a full-time permanent position. Utilising your knowledge of the relevant 12D design principles and applying your skills, you will undertake the design documentation of packages using roads civil design skills. You will perform design tasks such as vertical and horizontal road design, long sections, plans, profiles, earthworks and cross sections all using 12D as your main design tool. There may be opportunity to work on aviation and maritime projects as and when needed to meet our brief of working across the whole Transport market sector. An excellent working knowledge of 12D will be required as will the ability to take instructions from senior staff while also providing relevant feedback to the project team. Excellent AutoCAD skills is also a requirement, and if any MicroStation skills that would be advantageous but not essential to the role. The ability to work with other disciplines will also be expected as part of GHD's teamwork approach to delivering projects. You will also have experience in working with PTA/Main Roads WA design/drafting standards and in working on PTA projects within WA. You will have previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a consulting environment, with your well-developed communication skills being essential in this position. Being a team player, cooperation with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge, you will be able to build rapport with others and keep calm during periods of high pressure. l at all times
