The successful candidate will be required to:
• Configure network set up with reference to customer configuration by installing the required build, updating software, and configure network interfaces and routers accordingly. • Set up the trace at the customer site and monitor and debug issues in the site. • Maintain the network, and devices and upgrade store servers. Also, optimize specific servers. • Test various network protocols including but not limited to TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP. • Plan and configure new VLANs for new devices/servers and assign appropriate LAN ports. • Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, IP telephony equipment, business partner VPN connectivity and other network appliances. • Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. • Optimize network performance and reliability by maintaining hardware and software, analyse technical issues and ensure availability to system users. • Assess and suggest improvements to network operations and integrate hardware, software, communications, and operating systems. • Support and enforce compute network and systems continuity deploying and maintaining monitoring, backup and recovery, replication, control, and automation systems across the managed infrastructure platforms • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures in the provision of computer networks and systems • Recommend corrective action plans and improvements in the resolution of non-compliance with standards detected across the managed network and systems infrastructure • Liaise with hardware and software vendors where required for problem resolution and drive these to conclusion • End-to-end support for the Compute and Network Operations Centre services delivery function • Create, perform and collaborate in dailies, weeklies and monthly scheduled activities including reports, updates, meetings and training • Troubleshooting, upgrading and providing service support to communication infrastructure systems including but not limited to compute, storage, network, cloud, backups and recovery, security and disaster recovery and business continuity • Optimize and automate internal systems to improve the manage services activities efficiency • Problem and incident management utilising tools and ITIL Framework
