Our client is seeking an Automation Tester / Lead to join their investment data management team. The team is responsible for enhancing the organisations capabilities around their flag ship investment data and analytical systems. There is a requirement for a test consultant to provide quality assurance across several streams of work for key initiatives across internal teams and external vendors.
Responsibilities: • Program Test Strategy and Execution • Create, own, and be accountable for the overall test strategy across teams, ensuring solutions meet requirements, are thoroughly tested and defects and changes are well managed • Attend sprint planning and other forums to ensure testing activities are understood, documented, and estimated accurately across delivery streams • Attend daily stand-ups and other project status forums, working collaboratively with the wider team and contributing on testing progress • Monitor and report on testing activity and test metrics aligned to project deliverables and reporting • Work closely with other technology experts to translate technical requirements into comprehensive test plans, leveraging knowledge of system capabilities, business rules, and architecture • Assist Test Analysts and Business Stakeholders in the successful execution of testing activities, e.g. Test Execution, User Acceptance Testing • Stakeholder, Vendor and People Management • Directly manage the strategy and execution of testing with senior stakeholders within the agency (e.g. Project Manager, Directors, Heads Of) to ensure a collaborative and transparent approach • Manage the testing artefacts and test delivery of strategic vendors and their platforms while ensuring that they are held-accountable to the delivery and quality of their on-going development • Engage, motivate team members to ensure that they have clear work objectives, an avenue for escalation and clarity on their delivery and business priorities • Defect management • Assist Test Analysts and Developers in the creation, analysis, tracking and re-testing of defects • Co-ordinate and oversee defect triage meetings with various stakeholders across business, technology, and external vendors • Continuous improvement and automation • Contribute to the on-going improvement of testing activities and overall project delivery • Help to identify areas for improvement and automation of testing processes, aligned to the Agency's overall efforts to mature our DevOps and automation practices • Champion a focus on high-quality outcomes and exceptional client experiences
Mandatory Skills Description: • Automation Test Snr Consultant (eg lead seniority) • Be a qualified technology professional with demonstrated relevant experience of 6+ years • Python automation is a must. • Backend testing (checks on the server side or database/data flow) is a must • Qualification(s) in relevant testing certifications strongly desired (e.g. ISTQB) • Has a solid understanding of financial services organisations be it banking or investment / buy side organisations and their operations • Significant experience in an IT delivery capacity predominantly in Lead roles on data warehousing, multi-vendor integration and cloud projects • Experience delivering data & analytics solutions in financial services, with a demonstrated understanding of core investment concepts or banking concepts • In-depth knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle with demonstrated experience across test planning, user acceptance testing and quality assurance, in an agile and continuous delivery environment • Experience using the Atlassian stack, particularly JIRA, Confluence and Zephyr for Atlassian • Experience in self-discovery and visualisation technologies is desirable (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) • Experience in Test Driven Development and Agile Testing methodologies • Understanding of modern data ETL and integration technologies / concepts is desirable e.g. APIs, Excel Cubes, Tabular Data Models; Experience in managing the coordination of environment calendars across vendor and internal environments to streamline testing • Demonstrates the preparedness and capability to work with highly capable technology and business experts to identify, understand and analyse critical business requirements and issues
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience delivering data & analytics solutions in financial services, with a demonstrated understanding of core investment concepts e.g. Investment Risk Management, Hedging & Rebalancing, Security Master, Accounting & Investment Book of Records, Performance Returns calculation • Have a solid understanding of financial services organisations preferably with an Investment Fundamentals qualification e.g. CFA Institute's Investment Foundations Program • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain business requirements in technology terms and technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others • Encourages collaboration, shares knowledge and builds meaningful relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders • Is a self-starter who is comfortable with complexity and ambiguity and able to navigate and remain effective in a busy and evolving environment • Has a naturally engaging and consultative approach remaining sharply focused on delivering outcomes • Takes pride in the solutions they help to implement • Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement • Demonstrates the capability and capacity to undertake research and analysis of broad and complex requirements, being able to articulate meaningful insights that drive the creation of world class solutions
