The key responsibilities of the qualified Network Engineer:
Plan and design network architecture for connecting remote monitoring system from client sites to central monitoring location and head office, including network diagram mapping.
Configuration, installation and maintenance of networking/security hardware equipment such as switches, router, firewall, alarm monitoring, building access control and authorisation systems on client sides for the networkable CCTV monitoring system, back to base alarm monitoring and security/swipe card authorisation and connecting it with central monitoring site.
Local area network setup and configuration, at head office and central monitoring site, and on client sites, including setting up DNS, DHCP, PTTP, NAT, PAT, SPF, fibre optics cabling, smart wiring, audio visual equipment setup and network design and security testing and implementation using recommended industry guidelines.
Network fault diagnostics and troubleshooting from remote client sites to central monitoring site and head office and vice versa, and optimise network for fault tolerance, and researching new solutions for network reliability and security.
Secure Site-to-Site VPN tunnelling setup from remote client site to central monitoring location for secure transfer of live network feed from networkable CCTV, access control, intrusion detection.
Company website and email server maintenance, end user support and knowledge-based documentation creation for training and solutions.
Qualifications:
Should have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering
Should have at least three years of relevant work experience
