Responsibilities:
• Reviewing and interpreting drainage system designs, plans and specifications for projects.
• Conducting site visits to inspect and evaluate drainage systems, and identifying areas for improvement or repair.
• Designing and developing drainage solutions for new and existing projects.
• Calculating drainage requirements such as flow rates, detention times, and pipe sizes.
• Preparing detailed engineering drawings, plans and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Liaising with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and timelines are adhered to.
• Coordinating with contractors and suppliers to obtain necessary materials and equipment for projects.
• Conducting hydraulic modelling and analysis of drainage systems using relevant software tools.
• Performing quality control checks on completed work to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to drainage engineering.
• Collaborating with other engineers and team members on projects to ensure successful completion.
• Responding to and resolving any drainage-related issues or concerns that arise during projects.
Requirements:
• Experience in software packages such as 12D, DRAINS, AutoCAD or • MicroStation as well as other relevant engineering programs and drafting software is highly advantageous
• Demonstrated competence in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high-profile projects, with a specific focus on drainage engineering.
• Experience working in an engineering consultancy environment.
In-depth understanding of Australian codes and standards for drainage engineering.
