Educational requirements: Bachelor

English requirements: Proficient English

Requirements for skilled employment experience for years: 1-3 years

Accept remote work: unacceptable

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager or Service Delivery Officer, you will be required to support participants to reach their individual goals through meaningful and fun activities in their home and out in the community. If a shift involves you to work in one of our residences, you will be required to undertake household duties that may include cooking, laundry and light cleaning. As a Support Worker you will: Be respectful and communicate well with participants, family members and office staff Be able to think on your feet and be able to adapt to different situations and individuals Support the people we care for to grow their skills basis and abilities to perform tasks to help live a meaningful and good life Implement Behaviour Support Plans, where required, aimed at supporting the individual who demonstrates challenging behaviours to achieve their goals Implement routines and structures set out by Allied Health Teams Act in a caring and mindful manner when supporting clients Be flexible and resilient across a range of situations and environments Be an effective communicator with the clients and their families Effectively identify and mitigate risk to ensure safety for all involved Accurately complete reports and documentation to support other staff Requirements: • The ability to develop a positive relationship with a young person or adult participant • Excellent communication skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and often challenging situation • A reasonable level of fitness • Own car and smart phone • Current unrestricted Queensland Driver Licence • Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate, Police Check, Blue Card(working with children safe check), Yellow Card (disability worker screening clearance) and First Aid Certificate with CPR – if you don’t have these yet, we can provide direction for you to obtain them
