Job requirements

Educational requirements: Diploma or trade qualification

English requirements: Competent English

Requirements for skilled employment experience for years: 1-3 years

Accept remote work: unacceptable

Responsibilities: • Menu planning, estimating food and labour costs • Preparing and cooking menu items • Training and supervision of apprentices and less experienced staff • Adhering to, explaining and enforcing of hygiene regulations • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation. • Delegation of tasks to other team members • Supervise Cooks and assist as needed • Monitor food stock and place orders • Select and train staffs • Discuss food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff • Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation • Maintain Kitchen cleanliness and hygiene. Requirements: • Diploma Hospitality required including Certificate IV Commercial Cookery • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in Indian cuisine • Flexible availability • Ability to work unsupervised and in a team • Understanding of OH&S and food hygiene requirements
