Tasks required include: • Provides Linux and Windows system analysis and support for users, systems, and services to end-users and/or technical staff. • Provides customer service and answers user inquiries regarding computer software, hardware operation, and the use and interface of systems and software applications; may assist in designing, developing, and maintaining various systems and applications. • Prepares briefings, reports, and evaluations on systems efficiency and utilization; establishes and ensures that appropriate security controls are maintained and enforced, develops procedures, and training manuals, and conducts presentations. • Monitors and manages day-to-day operation of servers, and server applications ensuring service level agreement (SLA) compliance, policy and procedure development, including performing scheduled tasks, and special projects. • Responsible for TxDMV server environment (Windows/Linus/AIX) including, but not limited to, design, installation, support, and configuration of physical and virtual (VMware) servers and appliances. • Keeps current regarding relevant hardware/software products for system enhancements; researches and recommends network and server hardware and software as well as improvements for policies, procedures, and processes. • Participates in system testing and validation of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP); provides input and feedback to DRP and BCP activities. • Assists with the development and maintenance of documentation for procedures and processes. • Reviews and makes suggestions regarding the procurement of information technology equipment. • Provides on-the-job training for Server Administrators in the operation, installation, and maintenance of the Server environment. • Administers Active Director, end user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges, and security; Internet/Intranet Support; network and remote connectivity, hardware/software support. • Attends work regularly in compliance with the agreed-upon work schedule. • Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information. • Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity. • Performs highly complex system configuration changes; and collaborates with project teams to deliver technical solutions. • Maintains email accounts; anti-spam and anti-virus servers; updating anti-virus definition files; Storage Area Networks (SAN) • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. • Installation, maintenance, and repair of various hardware including servers, POS/SCO Systems & ATM Machines. • Ability to work in a 24/7 flexible environment. • Run diagnostics on troubled ATMs & POS systems. • Transportation of ATM's, printers, SCO and their spare parts· Perform preventative maintenance and refurbishment of ATM's and SCO/POS· POS Hardware implementation or diagnostic experience.
Requirements: • Bachelor of Information Technology • At least three (3) years experience as a System Analyst • At least five (5) years relevant experience in the IT industry • Extensive knowledge of: • Windows and Linux Administration • Release, incident, and change management procedures • Disaster recovery and business continuity principles and practices • Analysing issues; facts and available information to develop logical solutions; researching inconsistencies of facts or data; drawing correct inferences from information and making recommendations that support business decisions. • Analysing and organizing technical data • Designing, installing, and maintaining computer networks and systems, including use of applicable systems and software applications • Assigning, reviewing and monitoring the work of others, including leading projects and project teams; coordinating labour, materials, and equipment; prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. • Handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines • Effective oral and written communication • Exercising sound judgment and effective decision making.
