We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Engineer to join our growing Technology team.
As a Senior Oracle Database Engineer, you will play a critical role within delivery teams to build, design, optimize, govern, and monitor internal and external database stores.
You will be responsible for the administration of databases, including performance monitoring, troubleshooting, availability, and optimisation within a Hybrid cloud environment.
The role provides an opportunity to be highly involved in our database administration evolution which integrates with a number of technology platforms. Weekend and after-hours callout work will be required as part of the support roster.
To be successful in this role you will be outcome driven, able to work autonomously when needed, be proactive, be customer focused and possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
You will additionally have:
Strong interest in learning and upskilling with newer and evolving technologies Experience supporting delivery and ongoing operational management of database assets 7+ years Extensive experience in supporting medium to large scale oracle databases Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration (19c) - management, backup, monitoring, performance tuning Strong experience in monitoring Oracle Platforms using OMS/Cloud Control 13.4 and onwards Experience in Patch Management Coordination / Vendor interaction Knowledge of ITIL methodologies
Additional Skills (highly regarded)
UNIX and Operating Systems batch/shell scripting Experience with Exadata Experience working with Oracle / Azure Cloud - spinning up Oracle Databases/maintenance, etc Experience with other system & performance monitoring tool such as Dynatrace, Elastic Experience with Oracle Advanced Security Features Experience in automation within code deployment, monitoring, and other areas You’ll be part of a workplace where you’ll feel like you belong.
