Educational requirements: Diploma or trade qualification

English requirements: Proficient English

Requirements for skilled employment experience for years: 1-3 years

Duties and Responsibilities: • Assesses residents’ physical and functional abilities and limitations and develop a customised physiotherapy program to meet the resident’s health and wellness objectives. • Conduct one-one-one and group exercise programs that improve residents’ muscle strength, mobility and conditioning. • Develop treatment plans to rehabilitate physical and functional impairments resulting from injuries, falls or extended hospital stays. • Conduct post-fall assessments and work with site staff to create falls prevention plans. • Provide staff training such as manual handling training to reduce risks to staff and residents. • Monitor and re-assess effectiveness of treatments on a regular basis to make any necessary adjustments to treatments and programs. • Provide monthly reports on resident progress towards agreed health and wellness goals. • Review and assess suitability of assistive aids used to support residents.
