Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring meals are prepared to the highest standards. • Prepare and cook multicultural cuisine catering to a multicultural student/staff base. • Manage bulk cooking for daily meals and larger volume functions. • Streamline and oversee a high volume of online orders and deliveries. • Menu planning, regular ordering, stocktaking, and food cost management to ensure profitability. • Train and lead a team, ensuring they are up to date with the latest health and safety procedures. • Ensure all meals prepared for school students comply with the traffic light system for healthy eating.
Requirements:
• Prior experience working in a school canteen or similar setting. • Strong knowledge of the traffic light system or principles of healthy eating. • Expertise in bulk cooking and preparing meals for large-scale events. • Experience in cooking for a multicultural audience, with a diverse range of cuisines. • Proficiency in ordering, stocktaking, and food cost management. • Capability to train and guide staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards. • Familiarity with health and safety procedures and best practices. • A knack for overseeing a high volume of online orders and streamlining deliveries. • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Advanced Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
