Position overview
• Application Design, Development, Debugging, Testing & Documentation o Web application development o Application testing and problem diagnosis o Infrastructure provisioning & maintenance o Security & privacy
• IT Operations & Requirements Tracking o Participate in scoping, design, and delivery time priorities as part of the software development team o Participate in code review processes and review the work of other team members when necessary o Analyse business requirements and translate them into system specifications o Lead team discussions and formulate long-term roadmaps o Document system specifications & team processes
• Agile Processes & Methodology o Work within an agile environment and be responsible for your own time management, priorities and seeking all requirements to complete the solution o Provide recommendations to management concerning team productivity and improvements to our software operations

Responsibilities
Responsibility 1 – Design, develop, debug, test and document the Hanwha Retail systems and technology that will underpin the 5-year business plan and associated system architecture required to support:
• Sales & Marketing • Customer Operations • Accounting & Finance • Retail Pricing & Product Development • Wholesale trading
Responsibility 2 – Take the initiative in leading the system design, scoping and priorities as a senior member of a software development team. Lead team discussions and help other team members make customer-focused product decisions. Maintain an understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ behind system changes.
Responsibility 3 – Continually strive to improve systems, processes and people. This includes helping other team members with their daily tasks, peer reviewing their code and helping them to prioritise their workloads.
Responsibility 4 – Work autonomously within an agile environment and be responsible for your own time management, priorities and seeking all requirements to complete the solution. Provide recommendations to management concerning team productivity and process improvements.
Responsibility 5 – Protect the organisation’s value by keeping information secure and confidential.
Responsibility 6 – Provide regular progress updates and reporting as required to various internal and external parties.

Essential qualifications • Degree or post graduate qualifications in information technology, or equivalent qualification or experience.
Work experience & skills
Essential experience
• 3+ years experience with PHP/Laravel and React • MVC Frameworks (Laravel & CakePHP preferred). • CI/CD (PHPUnit, Bamboo, Jenkins, CircleCI). • Strong HTML/CSS/JS skills (Bootstrap, SASS/Less, Gulp, JQuery) desirable. • AWS infrastructure exposure (S3, RDS, EC2, SQS, SES, Beanstalk) desirable. • Software Design, Development, Debugging & Testing fundamentals.
