Responsibilities: • Researching, consulting, analysing and evaluating system program needs. • Identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods. • Testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in an applications. • Programming language within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure programs and applications perform to specification. • Writing and maintaining program code to meet system requirements, system designs and technical specifications in accordance with quality accredited standards. • Writing, updating and maintaining technical program, end user documentation and operational procedures. • Providing advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrades. • Help ensure all project targets have been met within the test plan • Ensure all measurements and metrics have been maintained. • Determine severity for any defects identified and manage escalation and resolution path. • Responsible for defect tracking for projects under their control. • Attend meetings and conference calls. • Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following attributes, • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in IT highly regarded. • Business orientation with strong IT background. • 2+ years’ experience in development or support in banking, cards, payments, insurance or financial services environment is desirable. • 2+ years working experience in Murex. • Familiarity with various Murex Modules including Trade Capture, Trade Events, Processes scripts, UDFs, Access Rights, Static Data, Maturity sets, Market Data, pre-trade workflows. • Technical skills including Unix, Shell Scripting, SQL, Interfaces would be an additional bonus. • Exposure to agile or scrum methodologies. • Experience in working in a development or support role, providing a service to internal or external customers. • Experience working in Migration projects is good to have. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
