Job description:
Equipment Maintenance Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment operates at optimal levels. Replace worn or damaged parts, fluids, filters, and components as needed.
Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, and hydraulic system problems. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and adjust or replace faulty components.
Ensure that all maintenance and repairs are performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards. Inspect and maintain safety features on equipment, such as lighting, brakes, and fire suppression systems.
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment. Document parts used, work hours, and any additional information required for reporting.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in mining and heavy earthmoving industry Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter or similar position in the mining or heavy equipment industry. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical systems. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment. Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to work in a safe and efficient manner. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
