Job Descriptions: To provide geotechnical support to the Open Pit or Underground Mining Areas to allow effective and safe mining activities to occur Implement the slope monitoring programs to supply timely information and advice to all working teams in the mine areas on slope movement. Review mine geotechnical performance daily using monitoring systems and inspections and communicate this to mine production personnel. Ensure mine development is by geotechnical standards (GCMP). Maintain a geotechnical database for the mine to maintain historical data for subsequent monitoring and trend analysis. Conduct mapping to establish rock mass and structural condition of domains to ensure the design of correct ground support. Design, plan and implement ground investigation programs. Conduct geotechnical project work as required to ensure continuous improvement concerning Geotechnical activities. Assist in developing the life of mine geotechnical designs for the open pit or underground operation, to contribute to long-term mine plans. Requirements: Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent). A minimum of 5 years' experience including 2 years' relevant Mining experience in a Geotechnical role. Knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrated ability to use specialised Geotechnical hardware and software, including Map3D, the RocScience suite, as well as specialised seismic software packages. Proficient in the use of Datamine software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
