Educational requirements: Diploma or trade qualification

English requirements: Competent English

Requirements for skilled employment experience for years: 1-3 years

Accept remote work: unacceptable

Job descriptions: The accurate detection of faults in mechanical parts and vehicle engines using technical testing equipment such as computers where appropriate. The removal and dismantling of mechanical components including (but not limited to) transmissions, engine assemblies and steering mechanisms and completing a thorough inspection of the components. Completing required repair work to mechanical components, or where necessary undertaking the replacement of parts in accordance with relevant service manuals. Reassembly of mechanical components post repair and conducting relevant tests to ensure the component is fully operational then making any necessary adjustments and re-testing if required. Performance of regular vehicle maintenance services including the replacement of vehicle fluids such as oil, engine tune-ups or lubricants ensuring the vehicles run effectively. Becoming an effective user of specialist machinery designed for exhaust system repair and customisation of exhaust system parts. Requirements: At least 1 year of relevant experience. Certificate III or Certificate IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology. Self-motivated and keen to learn. Technically minded. Able to work under limited supervision once totally proficient at a task. Good communication skills. Energetic and hardworking. Ability to share information well and contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes. Very personable and team player contributing to a harmonious work environment. Ability to learn and adapt to new situations.
